The Atlanta Hawks won the lottery and will have the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NBA draft for just the second time in franchise history in the festivities June 26-27 in New York City.

The lottery tipped off a jam-packed week as executives and scouts from every team congregated in Chicago, Illinois. The G League Elite Camp and draft combine followed at the Wintrust Arena, with more than 100 prospects competing in workouts and scrimmages in front of teams.

The predraft process is ramping up, with most teams beginning group workouts at their practice facilities. Draft boards will begin to fluctuate substantially as prospects showcase themselves on the court and in interviews with front offices.

Teams will work to bring in those individuals who declared as early entrants for the draft, with the withdrawal deadline looming on May 29. Prospects such as Johnny Furphy, Bronny James and Mark Sears are among those weighing their options.

Rookie Wire looked at the draft after the lottery and combine and projected every pick with team fit and other related factors in mind for each player.

Height:7-1 |Weight:224 |Year:N/A |Position:F

The Hawks stunned the world this month by landing the No. 1 pick in the draft lottery. The organization moved up nine positions to claim the top pick for the first time since the lottery was instituted in 1985.

Sarr is the front-runner to be the top pick, though he will have competition from fellow Frenchman Zaccharie Risacher. He established himself as the top prospect after dazzling in two preseason games against the Ignite, averaging 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, six blocks and two assists.

The 7-footer boasts all of the physical tools needed to make an immediate impact at the next level. He missed about a month in January with a hip injury but returned and played some of his basketball following the setback. He is a potential franchise cornerstone for the Hawks.

Washington Wizards: Zaccharie Risacher, JL Bourg (France)

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (4)

FIBA.Basketball

Height:6-8 |Weight:204 |Year:N/A |Position:F

Risacher, named the 2024 EuroCup Rising Star, is averaging 10.9 points and 3.8 rebounds on 38.8% shooting from 3-point range in 61 games this season. He became the first French player to be named the EuroCup Rising Star and joined Kristaps Porzingis and Jonas Valanciunas as recipients.

The 19-year-old put up his best outing of the year, producing 28 points and six rebounds on May 18 in the French League playoffs. He is highly touted for his passing, playmaking on offense and shooting ability, along with his defensive versatility, which were all on display in the quarterfinals for JL Bourg.

The Wizards, who also have the 26th pick, are reportedly in the market to acquire an additional first-round pick, indicating the organization is looking to build through the draft. They will have a good chance to add talent to the roster and could look to pair Risacher next to countryman Bilal Coulibaly and others.

3

Houston Rockets (via Brooklyn): Donovan Clingan, UConn

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (5)

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Height:7-2 |Weight:282 |Year:So. |Position:C

Clingan was voted an Associated Press All-American honorable mention and played an integral role in the Huskies winning their second straight national championship. He was named to the NCAA All-Tournament team after posting 15.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.2 blocks and 1.7 assists in six games.

The 7-footer had a rapid rise up draft boards after beginning the year projected to be selected later in the first round. He is in the conversation to be a high draft pick, given his size and ability to protect the paint with his 7-foot, 6 3/4-inch wingspan. He also improved on the perimeter to switch onto smaller players in certain situations.

Clingan is working to expand his offensive game during the predraft process. He is focusing on improving his shot from 3-point range, which was on display last week at the combine. He looks to be a good fit with teams near the top of the draft board, including the Rockets, and appears to be a lock as a top-three pick.

San Antonio Spurs: Nikola Topić, Crvena zvezda (Serbia)

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (6)

FIBA.Basketball

Height:6-6 |Weight:200 |Year:N/A |Position:PG

Topić recently reinjured his left knee, which previously cost him four months, and was ruled out for the remainder of the ABA League Finals. The injury isn’t considered serious, but teams will certainly inquire about it during the predraft process.

When healthy, Topić is viewed as perhaps the top point guard in the class. He was named the ABA League Top Prospect after averaging 14.5 points, 5.5 assists and 3.2 rebounds on 49.8% shooting from the field in 23 games this season. He joined Nikola Jokić, Goga Bitadze and Nikola Jović as previous players to win the award.

Topić is projected to be a high pick after dazzling this season in a limited sample size. He brings great size to the next level and is likely more advanced than other prospects, given his professional experience in Serbia, which started when he was 16.

Detroit Pistons: Matas Buzelis, G League Ignite

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (7)

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-10 |Weight:197 |Year:N/A |Position:F

Buzelis averaged 14.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.9 blocks and one steal on 45.3% shooting from the field in 34 games with the Ignite. He produced seven 20-point games, including a season-high 25 points on Dec. 14 in a win over the Rip City Remix.

The 19-year-old is projected to be a top-five pick with his great blend of size and ballhandling skills. He can seemingly get into the paint at ease by breaking down his defender at the point of attack with his dribble moves. He also excelled in knocking down shots from the midrange.

The Pistons reportedly agreed on Thursday to hire Trajan Langdon as their president of basketball operations. With that situation resolved, the team has a great opportunity to add a potential franchise-changing player here, and that could be Buzelis.

6

Charlotte Hornets: Reed Sheppard, Kentucky

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (8)

Jordan Prather-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-2 |Weight:181 |Year:Fr. |Position:G

Sheppard emerged as one of the top performers in the strength and agility testing at the draft combine last week: He was tied for the highest max vertical jump (42 inches) and the 14th-fastest three-quarter sprint (3.08 seconds).

He flashed that athleticism throughout the year and emerged as perhaps the best shooter in the class and a strong defender. He brings great versatility with him to the next level and projects to be a good fit with any lottery team.

7

Portland Trail Blazers: Tidjane Salaün, Cholet Basket (France)

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (9)

FIBA.Basketball

Height:6-9 |Weight:203 |Year:N/A |Position:F

Salaün, who turns 19 in August, has dazzled over the second half of his season with Cholet, and he recently produced 19 points, eight rebounds and three assists in the French League playoffs. His recent run has vaulted him up the draft. The Frenchman is now considered a top 10 pick.

He is highly touted for his ability to handle the ball in transition, drive and finish at the rim. He crashes the glass with force and can defend multiple positions with his reported 7-foot, 2-inch wingspan. He is a bit raw but the tools are in place to develop into an impact player at the next level.

8

San Antonio Spurs (via Toronto): Ron Holland II, G League Ignite

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (10)

FIBA.Basketball

Height:6-7 |Weight:196 |Year:N/A|Position:F

Holland was limited to 29 games after season-ending surgery in February to repair a ruptured tendon in his right thumb. He was cleared to return to basketball activities last month and recently participated in portions of the draft combine. He established himself as a versatile player who can score, defend at a high level and get others involved.

The 18-year-old started the year as a potential No. 1 pick candidate, but he is now projected to go later in the lottery after dealing with turnover and efficiency issues. He projects to be a good fit with the Spurs as a player who can develop with their young core, led by Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama.

Memphis Grizzlies: Dalton Knecht, Tennessee

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (11)

Grace Hollars/IndyStar

Height:6-6 |Weight:212 |Year:Sr.+ |Position:G

Knecht is fresh off a sensational season at Tennessee, averaging 21.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists on 39.7% shooting from 3-point range. He registered a program record eight 35-point performances, including 37 points on 6-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc in a loss to Purdue in the Elite Eight.

The consensus first-team All-American projects to be a good fit with the Grizzlies, with his scoring and ability to knock down shots. The Grizzlies were dealt a tremendously bad hand this season on the injury front and could use a player like Knecht, who can step in immediately and contribute next to Ja Morant, Desmond Bane and others.

10

Utah Jazz: Stephon Castle, UConn

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (12)

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-6 |Weight:210 |Year:Fr. |Position:G

The Big East Freshman of the Year had a stellar run in the Final Four to help the Huskies to their second straight title. He totaled 36 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in two games. He emerged as a great perimeter defender with his size, versatility and instincts and was often matched up with opposing teams’ best players.

Castle landing with the Jazz would be a perfect fit. He would step in and immediately help them on the defensive front while also serving as another primary ballhandler for Will Hardy & Co. He will need to improve as a shooter, but he has all of the other pieces in place to be an impact player at the next level.

11

Chicago Bulls: Rob Dillingham, Kentucky

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (13)

Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-2 |Weight:164 |Year:Fr. |Position:G

Dillingham was named the SEC Sixth Man of the Year after averaging 15.2 points, 3.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds and one steal on 44.4% shooting from 3-point range. He ranked ninth in the conference in assists and 3-point percentage.

He flourished playing with or without the ball and was exciting to watch in transition, with his lightning-quick speed and ability to change directions seemingly at the drop of a dime. He would be a good fit with the Bulls, who could use more guard depth.

12

Oklahoma City Thunder (via Houston): Jared McCain, Duke

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (14)

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-3| Weight:203| Year:Fr.| Position:G

Regarded as one of the top shooters in the draft, McCain can fit in well with several teams in this range. He can knock down shots on the move, in catch-and-shoot situations and off the bounce at a high clip with his smooth stroke.

The Thunder are heavily linked to Colorado freshman Cody Williams, the younger brother of Jalen Williams, but McCain would also be a good addition with his competitiveness and offensive ability. McCain could be a prospect to watch if they don’t bring in Williams.

13

Sacramento Kings: Cody Williams, Colorado

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (15)

Robert Goddin-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-7 |Weight:178 |Year:Fr. |Position:F

Williams, the younger brother of Thunder forward Jalen Williams, entered the season in the conversation to be the No. 1 pick but missed time with various injuries. He still showcased himself at a high level and had flashes of what made him a top prospect.

He flourished with the ball in his hands and can easily get into the paint and throw down emphatic dunks. He has the length teams covet, with his 7-foot, 1-inch wingspan, and the potential to develop into a franchise cornerstone.

14

Portland Trail Blazers (via Golden State): Kyle Filipowski, Duke

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (16)

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Height:7-0 |Weight:229 |Year:So. |Position:C

Filipowski was a consensus second-team All-American after averaging 16.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.1 steals on 50.5% shooting from the field. He led the team in nearly every category and became the seventh Blue Devil in the past 50 years to eclipse 1,000 points in his first two seasons.

The 7-footer fine-tuned some of his weaknesses this past season. He improved from 28.2% last year to 34.8% from 3-point range on 3.1 attempts per game and doubled his block percentage to 5.7 this past season. With his recent improvement, Filipowski should be a good addition for teams in this range.

15

Miami Heat: Isaiah Collier, USC

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (17)

Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-3 |Weight:204 |Year:Fr. |Position:G

Collier missed about a month of action in January due to a hand injury. He returned on Feb. 7 and finished the season averaging 17.6 points, 4.5 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals on 37.5% shooting from 3-point range over his last 11 games.

He struggled with his shooting and decision-making at times but improved in those areas as the season progressed. He is highly touted for his ability to create for himself, which would be useful for the Heat off the bench.

16

Philadelphia 76ers: Ja'Kobe Walter, Baylor

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (18)

Raymond Carlin III-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-5 |Weight:197 |Year:Fr. |Position:F

Walter was the Big 12 Freshman of the Year and finished with the second-most points by a freshman in program history (508). He struggled at the start of conference play, which affected his draft stock, but he settled in and finished the year on a high note.

The 19-year-old can get to his spots well, pull up from virtually everywhere and finish at the rim. He can also lock up on defense. The Sixers will likely take the best prospect available, which points to Walter, who was considered a potential top-five pick at the start of the year.

17

Los Angeles Lakers: Tyler Smith, G League Ignite

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (19)

FIBA.Basketball

Height:6-10 |Weight:224 |Year:N/A |Position:F

Smith, a former consensus five-star prospect, established himself as a player who can run the floor and provide floor spacing at the next level, converting 36% from 3-point range on 3.7 attempts. He can also work in the post with his touch and footwork, which is where he flourished this past season.

He is ranked a little higher here than in the consensus, but the versatility Smith brings on both ends should make him worthy of a look here. The Lakers‘ situation is fluid, with the team searching for a new head coach and their pick possibly on the move, so this spot is a bit of a wild card to predict.

Orlando Magic: Tristan da Silva, Colorado

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (20)

Joe Timmerman/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK

Height:6-9 |Weight:216 |Year:Sr. |Position:F

Da Silva, who was born in Germany, was named to the All-Pac-12 second team after averaging a career-high 16 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals on 39.5% shooting from 3-point range. He registered nine 20-point games, including a season-high 27 points and 11 rebounds on March 3.

The 22-year-old is highly touted for his shotmaking and ability to drive and move the ball. He is a good cutter and constantly moves on offense, which makes him a good fit for the Magic. They had trouble finding playing time for two rookies this season, so it will be worth monitoring how the organization approaches this pick.

19

Toronto Raptors (via Indiana): Yves Missi, Baylor

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (21)

Albert Cesare/The Enquirer

Height:7-0 |Weight:229 |Year:Fr. |Position:C

Missi, who grew up in Cameroon, is viewed as one of the top defensive big men in the draft after averaging 10.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks with Baylor. He was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive team and All-Freshman team.

The 7-footer finished fourth in the country among freshmen in offensive rebounding (2.6) and led the Big 12 in offensive rebounding percentage (14.6). He still has plenty to unlock after getting a late start to basketball, but he would have the chance to grow within the Raptors‘ system.

20

Cleveland Cavaliers: Devin Carter, Providence

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (22)

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-3 |Weight:193 |Year:Jr. |Position:G

Carter, the son of former 13-year NBA veteran Anthony Carter, was named the Big East Player of the Year after averaging 19.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.8 steals. He led the conference in scoring and finished 10th in the country in defensive rebounds (253).

The 22-year-old was considered one of the top defenders in the country, ranking 10th in defensive win shares (2.7) and 14th in defensive box plus-minus (plus-4.9). He was one of the standouts at the draft combine this month and helped his stock as much as anyone in the event.

The Cavaliers are in a precarious position following the firing of head coach JB Bickerstaff on Thursday. The roster could also undergo some changes, with the futures of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland in question, so this is a tough draft pick to pinpoint at the moment.

21

New Orleans Pelicans (via Milwaukee): Kyshawn George, Miami

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (23)

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-8 |Weight:208 |Year:Fr. |Position:G

George, born in Switzerland, had a productive freshman campaign with the Hurricanes. He scored in double figures 12 times and was the only freshman in the ACC to average at least seven points and three rebounds in fewer than 25 minutes per game (23.0). He has impressed in spurts as a perimeter defender and his ability to space the floor, converting 40.8% from 3-point range on 4.2 attempts per game. He also brings good experience after playing with Élan Chalon in France.

22

Phoenix Suns: Zach Edey, Purdue

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (24)

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Height:7-4 |Weight:299 |Year:Sr. |Position:C

Edey wrapped up a tremendous college career this past season after leading the Boilermakers to the national title game. He became the first player in over 50 years to win Player of the Year unanimously in consecutive seasons after averaging 25.2 points, 12.2 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and two assists. He projects to fit in as a player who can dominate in the paint and provide rim protection in spurts. Questions remain about how he can be utilized at the next level as a traditional center, but the 7-footer has proven himself to be a worthy selection at this stage in the draft.

23

Milwaukee Bucks (via New Orleans): Tyler Kolek, Marquette

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (25)

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-2 |Weight:196 |Year:Sr. |Position:PG

Kolek became one of seven players in program history to be named a consensus All-American after averaging a career-high 15.3 points, 7.7 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals on 38.8% shooting from 3-point range. He flourished in the pick-and-roll and showed that he could make every pass on the floor to set up his teammates after leading the country in assists. His range is said to be in the 20s as a player who can step in immediately and make an impact.

24

New York Knicks (via Dallas): Carlton Carrington, Pitt

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (26)

Amber Searls-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-4 |Weight:194 |Year:Fr. |Position:G

Carrington was the only freshman in the country to average at least 13.5 points, five rebounds and four assists this past season. He registered five 20-point games and was one of 27 Division I players to record a triple-double after recording 18 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists on Nov. 6. He can create for himself and has shown the ability to get to his spots in the mid-range, where he flourishes. He still has some work to do on his 3-point shot after converting 32.2% from beyond the arc, but he can provide teams with some versatility in the backcourt.

25

New York Knicks: Kel’el Ware, Indiana

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (27)

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Height:7-0 |Weight:230 |Year:So. |Position:C

Ware took advantage of a larger role with the Hoosiers and was one of two players in the Big Ten to average at least 15 points and nine rebounds (Zach Edey). He emerged as a tremendous rebounder and shot-blocker and also showed some floor spacing ability after converting 42.5% from 3-point range on 1.3 attempts per game. He will be able to step in and bring versatility to the Knicks’ frontcourt, something they lacked this season.

26

Washington Wizards (via Clippers): Johnny Furphy, Kansas

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (28)

Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-8 |Weight:189 |Year:Fr. |Position:SF

Furphy, who was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman team, averaged 11.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals on 34.9% shooting from 3-point range over his last 19 games of the season. He left the door open to return to school, though he should stay in the draft after establishing himself as a likely first-round pick, given his ability to score, run the floor, finish at the rim and cut on offense. The Wizards could be a good destination for him as a team building toward the future.

27

Minnesota Timberwolves: Jaylon Tyson, Cal

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (29)

Darren Yamash*ta-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-6 |Weight:218 |Year:Jr. |Position:SF

Tyson was named to the All-Pac-12 first team after averaging 19.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.2 steals on 36% shooting from 3-point range. He was one of two players from a major conference to average at least 19 points, six rebounds and 3.5 assists. He flourished as a shooter and can pull up from virtually all over the court. He also has the size that should translate to the next level. Tyson is another player who climbed draft boards throughout the year and should hear his name called in this range.

28

Denver Nuggets: Baylor Scheierman, Creighton

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (30)

Brianna Paciorka/News Sentinel

Height:6-7 |Weight:201 |Year:Sr.+ |Position:SF

The third-team All-American finished his five years in college on a high note, averaging 18.5 points, nine rebounds and 3.9 assists on 38.1% shooting from 3-point range this past season. He became the first player with at least 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 500 assists and 300 3-pointers and the 11th player to score 1,000 points or more at multiple schools. He brings a ton of versatility with him to the next level and projects to be a player who can step in immediately and contribute. The Nuggets‘ depth took a hit this past season and was glaring at times, making Scheierman a good target at this stage of the draft.

29

Utah Jazz (via Oklahoma City): Bobi Klintman, Cairns Taipans (NBL)

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (31)

FIBA.Basketball

Height:6-9 |Weight:212 |Year:N/A |Position:F

Klintman, who was born in Sweden, averaged 9.7 points and 4.8 rebounds on 36% shooting from 3-point range in 23 games with the Taipans. He registered two 20-point games, including a season-high 24 points and seven rebounds on Dec. 25. He is highly touted for his defensive ability and offers great versatility as a player who can handle the ball in transition, rebound and shoot from deep.

30

Boston Celtics: Ryan Dunn, Virginia

2024 NBA Mock Draft: The latest projections for every pick after the draft combine (32)

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Height:6-7 |Weight:213 |Year:So. |Position:F

Dunn capitalized on a more prominent role this past season, starting every game for the Cavaliers, thanks largely to his defensive ability. He was named to the ACC All-Defensive team after finishing seventh in defensive box plus-minus (plus-5.6) and 11th in blocks (2.3). He has great athleticism that enables him to stay in front of his defenders and recover on switches to block shots with his 7-foot, 1 1/2-inch wingspan. He will need to improve as a shooter but will hear his name called in this range largely because of his defensive tenacity.
