This is the film that Schrader's The Canyons gestures at. Can trace many a lineage of eroticism through its kinks, spanning the bare intentions of 60s sexploitation dialogue and the fetishist degradation of W.A.V.E. Productions, but more than anything I'm attracted to the idea of this being of mutual essence to qualify as Tubi Pinku, a film of flat digital compositions and whole bodied performances. There are no ropes but stronger still is the stranglehold of a found family, submission and dominance taken to the depraved extremities of physical psychology; belonging to someone so intensely as to dispossess oneself of both body and will. This is more reliant on off-screen implication than the openly obscene transgressions of works such as…

Oh yeah!! Cult cinema is back baby! ITS FUCKING BACK! Was this the best acting? No, but was it the worst? Listen I’ve literally seen Robert De Niro phone it in, so you cant scare me with the notion of bad acting in movies. The story is absolutely bonkers, and the writing is in truth formulaic and cliche. And yet, I was locked in from start to finish, engaged in the characters and the world that filmmaker Rich Mallery is giving us. Everything about this movie shouldn’t work, and I can’t really say that it was life altering, but I’m truly just here for the absolute abhorrent chaos. It’s like if David Lynch directed a lifetime thriller. It reminds me when I watched Divinity or Zapper last year. Please bring back weird as fuck cult films. This is the kind of movie I would’ve bought at Hollywood Video for $2.99 with a look of shame on.

The copious amount of nudity from the ladies (Fawn Winters and Savannah Mares, goddamn), is the only thing We Are Wolves has going for it, because otherwise, this is yet another Rich Mallery failure. I fucking GUARANTEE you that one's better off watching actual porn with this premise.

Review by damosuzuki ★★★★★
obviously, it's also a 1 star movie.
but this is hot stuff.
quadrants rating:
plot simple, easy to follow. a
duration 90 minutes or so. a
action/adventure n/a
sex/nudity a+++ if the sex scenes had been longer & steamier & there was a little more nudity, i'd throw a few more pluses in there.you see those women on the poster? do you want to see them act out some reasonably hot sub/dom games & have a bit of lesbian sex that could have been hotter but was still pretty hot? then it's on tubi.
I REALLY REALLY LIKED IT A LOT.

I’m actually glad that sexploitation is still being made today. Of course it’s a goofy sugary affair. Of course if it was released in the 60s, in black and white and directed by either Lee Frost or Michael Findlay (or better yet some weirdo whose only credit is one movie) it would be scanned in 4K and redistributed by Vinegar Syndrome or their affiliates. But in a world where either things go too hard or too soft, it’s nice that there is still a place for something that sits in the middle.
